Help UNICEF Give Mindanao's Children a Fighting Chance

12:03 AM

This came in the mail today: UNICEF's call to help save children at Masepla in Zamboanga from STUNTING, a form of malnutrition caused by insufficient nutrient intake or frequent infections.

Studies have shown that malnutrition has a long-term effect if not treated within the first 1000 days of a child's life,an extremely crucial period that influences their future growth.

Small help makes a Big Impact.
UNICEF helps save severely malnourished children through their Severe Acute Malnutrition Management Programmes and provides these little ones with Ready-to-use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) that help their young bodies recover from the toll of malnutrition, and provide them with all the nutrients they need to become stronger.

A single RUTF sachet costs just P20-a small amount that can make a life-changing difference for these children. I'm sure lots of us wont mind missing a cup of our favorite coffee from the neighborhood coffee shop or saying no to the urge of getting a quick bite on that oh-so-sinfully-yummy burger.

Supporting UNICEF makes it possible for us to reach out to more children and create lasting change in their lives. Give to UNICEF. I just did. No amount is too small if we all but give a part of us, after all , it takes a village to raise a child. :)

UNICEF's MISSION:

As a leading child rights advocacy organization, UNICEF Philippines will: advocate that every child in the Philippines has the environment they need for their growth, development and security; increase the number of organisations involved in securing the highest standards of care for children and the fulfillment of their rights; and, as managers of resources for all children, operate in a way that is transparent, effective and accountable.
