Davao’s Heritage on Full Display at Kadayawan Festival with PLDT Home

The 39th Kadayawan Festival was truly a feast for the senses, offering tourists and content creators a dream experience as they immersed themselves in the rich local culture during Davao City’s “King of Festivals,” powered by PLDT Home. From August 7 to 18, the Kadayawan Festival provided local and international visitors with the opportunity to experience the vibrant colors, sounds, and tastes of the region. The festival highlighted the 11 tribes or indigenous peoples of Davao, including the Bagobo-Tagabawa, Sama, Ata, Tausug, Bagobo, Iranun, Kagan, Maranao, Matigsalug, Obu Manuvu, and Maguindanaon. This modern, urban adaptation of their traditional celebration honored a bountiful harvest. As a proud partner of this year’s Kadayawan Festival, PLDT Home hosted several exciting events in the city, including the much-anticipated Hiyas ng Kadayawan pageant.
