Since I got anatomized , I've  always been very enthusiastic about attending meetups.  Aside from the activities being full of information, its also full of food! Teehee!  And you get to meet new friends. And you get to REALLY enjoy learning more & more of the Google Products and  the social media and the responsibilities & opportunities that come with the use of it.  So when GBG Gensan Community Manager Avel Manansala asked me about my GBG experience and what I can say about Google Products, here's what I have shared: As a member of the academe, I  appreciate how Google Drive has become such a convenience ! I have required my kid...

Freedom from Fear-dom

Image
When we left the house last June 12, 2013, ABS-CBN  President Charo Santos was saying : " Araw-araw, meron tayong magagawang serbisyong pampubliko para sa Pilipino" during the station's Independence Day Flag Ceremony. And I said, " This is it! This is really is it!". Poppy had actually convinced me to participate in our  BATCH PROJECT  not as a partner, but as a Blood Donor. I have read the  FAQ's of Blood Donors  and tried to follow as much as I could: Had a good night's sleep, took plenty of fluids , had a hefty breakfast & ( though not included in the list of "to do's") summoned for strength - talawan lang ang peg. When we got to the Barangay Hall of Dadiangas East, where the Bloodletting is held, we had our names listed and were asked to fill up some Donor's Form. Afterwhich we were pre-evaluated. I thought, I am just a few steps away from conquering my fear...egzoited! I actually got cleared in all of the quest...

Suncity Suites Night Run Series Hits Year 3!

Image
Let's start the fun runnin' for the third time!   Suncity Suites  marks its 3rd year Anniversary in General Santos City by launching  their now famous Night Run Series. Happening on July 20, 2013 , this is Suncity's 3rd set already. Since the fun run fever got viral in the city, people had  enthusiastically embraced this "sweat" habit. Coupled with the equally famous and addicting ZUMBA steps, the whole neighborhood just seem to unite in one great move! Oh, yeah! I'm no health buff but a little "sweatin' it out" party certainly wont hurt. Especially when you're running with the Bee! Nah! Hangin' around Jollibee after a 3k run in last year's Night Run And because it's from Suncity, what can you expect but a great party!Oh, but wait, there's more to it than partying: Join and help  Save the Children - this year's run beneficiary.  So run and have some fun, sweat it out and be fit and get the chanc...

To Bleed or not to Bleed

Image
I have always admired those who have donated blood : men in uniform, muscled men, brave women, etc, etc, including my husband who had already shared some pint of his precious Type A blood to two people who were pinned down by dengue and to her sister who died of Cancer. I have thought of being a donor myself at one point or another, but the mere sight of the needle makes my knees soft like a marshmallow already. Ngek, good luck na lang ug dili makuyapan! Nevertheless, I have always been supportive of these undertakings. I believe it means a lot be able to save lives with drop of blood ( well, drops of it actually) but did you know that you actually benefit from Bloodletting too? Bloodletting may lower cardiovascular risk as removing blood could help improve blood pressure, lower cholesterol and drop blood glucose in obese patients with metabolic syndrome. So there! You help save others and you help yourself too! I still need to summon all the angels and saints to convince m...

Once There was a Mother

Image
Once there was a mother, Who misses the son  She has left behind. She shed tears every night, Hoping for him to be alright. Once there was a mother, She cared so much for a daughter Who never came from her. Blood is thicker than water, But the heart knows so much better. Once there was a mother, She had the best daughter ever. She gave her protection and all her affection. To her feet, She'll give her the nation. Once there was a mother, Jealous of her own daughter. She would find her faults, and fire her with insults. She couldn't care less, if she was ruthless. Once there was a mother, Afraid to be a blunder. She painted memories Of fake but happy yester-years To keep her going in this world she is having. Once there was a mother, Engulfed with pain , there's no room for laughter. She lived in a world Where she thrived in her fears Of jealousy, insecurity and so much tears. Once there was a mother, ...

Gagged!

When you want to speak and everything that comes out from your mouth is wrong. When you want to speak and nothing that you say just seemed to be right. When you want to speak and you just  cant say the words that you want to say. When you want to speak and nobody just wanna hear you out When you have spoken and nobody believes you, and nobody listens to you, and nobody understands  you, and you feel you're oh so wrong, and you feel you've done nothing right, and you feel you're doomed, and you just wanna shut up, and you just wanna keep silent, and you just wanna disappear, and you just wanna give up, and you just want everything to stop. Gagged. Virtually .

Typo Error on ur Birth Certificates? No need to go to the courts!

Image
[REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10172] AN ACT FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY OR MUNICIPAL CIVIL REGISTRAR OR THE CONSUL GENERAL TO CORRECT CLERICAL OR TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS IN THE DAY AND MONTH IN THE DATE OF BIRTH OR SEX OF A PERSON APPEARING IN THE CIVIL REGISTER WITHOUT NEED OF A JUDICIAL ORDER, AMENDING FOR THIS PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED NINETY FORTY-EIGHT http://www.gov.ph/2012/08/15/republic-act-no-10172/ I was the happiest when my friend Phillip shared this link with me.  Finally! The chance to correct the entry on my Birth Certificate. Imagine, after giving birth to 3 wonderful kids, I was to learn in 2002 that i belong to the MALE Gender.  Ugaling bakla lang po ako. Pero may Matris po ako! This typographical error on my Birth Certificate prevented me in  pursuing a chance for a greener pasture .  And the process that one has to go through  (read: publications, court hearings, lawyers fee, psychological exams, etc) to have this mista...
