I Survived Eyebrow Embroidery!

Image
Ever had that "Feeling Alien" moment whenever you take the plunge into the pool? Yung pag-ahon mo, naglaho bigla ang kilay mo? Or have you ever grown tired of mastering the art of drawing kilay2000 every time? I know right! The eyes are said to be the windows of your soul, and the brows? They are the frame, dahlin! The prettier your brows are coupled with the perfect arch  make those pair on fleek! My friend Jacque , an airbrush makeup expert,  has been itching to get  her blades on my "you-can-count-on-your-fingertips" brows and needless to say, after weeks of trying to evade her, I gave in! Curiosity and social media hype, you  are to be blamed! (May masisi lang! Lol!) So with butterflies turning my stomach into a playground, I head on to meet with Jacque! There were about three girls when I got to the meeting place and they all looked like Betty Lafea (peace , ladies! We all got the chance to play the part! yay!) After the beso-beso and pleasantries wi...

The Bag Attack

Image
People would always throw me that  "What-in-the-hell-is-in-your-bag" look whenever I ask them to pass my bag over to me.  I  always respond with  a silly smile and am always ready to answer , "may kaldero jan!" Sometimes, I also muse on why I always carry a heavy bag and there are  instances where I would  try to take some items out to lessen the weight. Needless to say, I never succeeded!  I can't seem to find an item that I would be comfortable leaving behind...:) The following pictures should give you an idea how loaded my bag is. Lez do some bag attack! I got pens. Lotsa pen : white board pens, permanent pentel pens, ball pens, sharpie, highlighter, sign pens. Intestines! ---err, cables and wires, power banks , extra batts and earphones. Surely you will agree with me when I say I just NEED to have em on my bag. Yeah? All sorts of cards. Well, one needs to earn  points or keep a calling card handy for a...

Nepal Earthquake: You can Still Help.

Image
Nepal was left grief-stricken after the massive destruction brought  by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake last April 25, 2015. Kathmandu's old city  reduced to rubble. Photo from the web. C to owner. This natural calamity has affected an estimated 7 Million people --2.8 of whom are children--needing urgent food assistance, clean water to drink, temporary shelters , sanitation and prot ection from disease outbreak. The situation must be unbearable. It made me cry watching the news. My heart goes to the children who are always the most vulnerable in times of emergency. They need help. A Unicef worker speaks to a child seeking shelter.  Photo from the web. C  to owner. While people all over the world had already sent aid in different forms, I've read somewhere that help is still needed. WE CAN STILL HELP. Even in our littlest ways. Even if we are far from Nepal.  Give to UNICEF . I just did. Unicef...

And then there was Pinocchio!

Image
Years ago I cried Because I carried a life In a tummy I want to hide. I stumbled and fall Had  a few people to call But my Dad stood tall. It was a bumpy ride With roller coaster on the side And I have to brave the tide. I fought life's challenges Even with some loosen hinges I managed to find success. A lot of promises I made Even though many has fade Its my self, I always try to persuade. And then I found happiness A bliss I thought that is countless Forever it will be my fortress. I enjoyed the chatter Even the frequent clutter From my little toddler. The boy was a wonder To us and his grandfather He fills us with laughter. One day I made him say A promise for him to obey Which will make me happy someday. His words I treasure For it will be my pleasure To find him a good future. But now I cry Because of a lie That let out a heavy sigh. I feel outraged I feel betrayed I feel a lot of ...

ACLC Gensan BOIS Batch Happiness: Competent!

Image
ACLC General Santos City. The graduating class of Business Office Information Information System has stood up to the challenge, passing the National Competency in Events Management III given by TESDA last Mar 5-8, 2014, making me one proud and happy mentor.  Alas! After feeling tortured and anxious for three days waiting for the results ( like you have a  dozen of kids who just got wheeled in in an operating room to be dissected upon!Gosh!), the die is cast:  Competent!   All the nose-bleeding activities had paid off! Event planning, event proposals, brain-boggling budgeting, negotiating, etcetera-etcetera blah, blah, blah! It just feels overwhelming when kids come to you and say how much you have been a part of their success. But this is certainly not about me. I am just an instrument. Its my pride and honor to see that you guys have learned something . I must have done something good to deserve your sweet "thank you's". Keep ...

CYBERCRIME LAW: MY TWO CENTS WORTH

Image
General Santos City-News about SC (Supreme Court) upholding the constitutionality of a key provision in the controversy that is RA 10175 or popularly known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 rippled across different media from print to broadcast to social media and was gaining different reactions from the public. Just another Juana Dela Cruz , the blogger in me screams that no matter how we debate about the Act's constitutionality at present, the fact remains that IT has now been declared enforceable! Least you can do now is be aware of its provisions and become more responsible about what you write and post online. As Raffy Tima stated, "Think before you click." Am not saying that I'm all for RA 10175. I would love to enjoy freedom of speech to its fullness and still be able to honestly  say: "the coffee in this coffeeshop is not masarap" and not appear libelous! Gosh! I think that's absurd! Could you not take things constructively?...

IMA Little Red Riding Hood!

Image
Realization suddenly struck me.  Oooops! Am I surrounded with red stuff  or I am surrounded with red stuff?  Teehee! Iam! Iam! Maria Mercedes lang ang peg neto....from my bag to my wallet to my call cards! Addict lang?! I dunno why RED always turns me on. It doesn't fail to seduce me!  Red is the color of Blood, of Rubies and of Strawberries..things I am not very much fond of. Red is commonly associated with Danger. Anger. Fire. But that's far from being me. Red is also Love. Red is Luck and Happiness. Red is Christmas! Red is me! But why on earth am I flooding this page with RED? No idea! Hahahah! I just feel like doing so!
